The Sooners have the No. 1 class in 2027, and it could only get better from there if this recent recruiting prediction comes true.

Not long ago, during Future Freaks Weekend, the Sooners landed the No. 1 tight end in the country in Seneca Driver. He’s a 6’6, 240-pound, and the No. 49th player in the country. There are two more tight ends they have been going after heavily, among others, lightly.

They went after Titus Hawk, who just committed to Notre Dame, but shifted their focus to Ben Kolar long before that. Now, they are being predicted to land Kolar, the Norman North tight end.

National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman predicts the Sooners to land Kolar

On Tuesday Morning, Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman predicted the Sooners to land Kolar at an 85.1% confidence level. The No. 9 player in Oklahoma is also considering Auburn and Tennessee, two schools that have been recruiting well, but not to the extent of OU. They also don’t have Witten, one of the greatest TEs of all time, recruiting for them.

If they land Kolar, they’ll have the No. 1 tight end and No. 19 tight end in the same class. It’s safe to say that new tight ends coach Jason Witten is putting in some crazy work in the recruiting trenches.

The Oklahoma Sooners have made a big impression on Ben Kolar, the local high school tight end ranked No. 19 nationally for the 2027 class. Kolar, who attends Norman North, just finished his junior season with 653 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Kolar continues to be a sought-after tight end, as shown by his numerous recent visits. Most notably, he recently visited the school in his backyard again.

“The visit went really well,” Kolar told Rivals. “I loved the depth of Coach (Jason) Witten’s coaching and was very impressed with the room. They are definitely one of my top schools. The closeness to my home would make it super easy for my parents as well.”

Now, the Sooners just have to close this out.
