The Oklahoma Sooners are continuing to cast a wide net in their search for the quarterbacks of the distant future in Norman. On Friday, offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle and quarterbacks coach John Kuceyeski sent out another offer at the QB position in the recruiting class of 2029.

OU has offered Ryder Flugence, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound signal-caller out of Texas. Playing at Boerne Champion High School, he becomes the second QB in the ’29 class to receive an offer from the Sooners, joining Logan Lucero, who also hails from Texas. The Sooners have yet to offer a quarterback in the 2030 class.

Oklahoma has also been doing its due diligence regarding the 2028 quarterback class. Five players have received offers from the Sooners, including Graham Simpson, Trey TagliaferriBrady Quinn, Gavin Strang, and Trey Wright. Additionally, Oklahoma has shown some interest in Nash Henry, a local product from Norman North High School, but has not offered him yet.

Simpson, the very first QB offer the Sooners sent out in the ’28 class, was on campus this week, as were Strang and Flugence for Oklahoma’s high school camp in Norman. Of course, whoever Oklahoma signs at QB in both the ’28 and ’29 classes will have to wait their turn with the Sooners, as Arbuckle and Kuceyeski have been focusing on re-stocking the pond at the position, ever since they arrived after the 2024 season.
