Oklahoma Sooners remain just inside AP Top 25 after loss to Michigan

The Oklahoma Sooners tumbled in the US LBM Coaches Poll, dropping 11 spots to No. 21 in the nation after their loss to Michigan. OU stayed just inside the top 25 of the AP Poll released on Sunday, dropping 13 spots to No. 13 in the nation.

Only the Oregon Ducks fell more than the Sooners. The Ducks were upset by the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday.

Moving to the No. 1 spot were the Texas Longhorns. Texas came back from a big halftime deficit to knock off the previous No. 1 team, the Ohio State Buckeyes. This sets up a scenario where Oklahoma could face the No. 1 team in the nation when they meet their Red River Rivals in the Cotton Bowl.

After Texas at No. 1 are the Georgia Bulldogs, the Sooners' next Power Four opponent is at No. 2. Notre Dame, Indiana, and Miami make up the rest of the top five.

Currently, Oklahoma has five opponents on its schedule that rank inside the AP Top 25, giving the Sooners several chances to win back voters' favor and, more importantly, build an impressive resume when the College Football Playoff committee begins convening later in the season.

All they have to do is figure out the offense, and they'll be in good shape.
