STILLWATER — New coach Eric Morris is rebuilding the Oklahoma State quarterback group with youth, gaining a commitment from Luke Tepas of Barrington High School in Illinois on Tuesday night.

A 6-foot-4, 205-pound senior, Tepas guided Barrington to the Class 8A semifinals this season, completing 130 of 213 passes (61.0%) for 2,254 yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions. He had no reported scholarship offers prior to his announcement that he had committed to OSU.

Tepas is the second high school quarterback in the 2026 class, joining Brodie Vehrs of Chandler, Arizona, who signed with the Cowboys on Dec. 3.

At least three of the five quarterbacks on the OSU roster in 2025 are set to depart in Zane Flores, Noah Walters and Mason Schubert. The future remains unknown for Hauss Hejny and Banks Bowen.

Additionally, it was reported that North Texas quarterback Drew Mestemaker is expected to enter the transfer portal when it opens Jan. 2, though it is not guaranteed that he will follow Morris to OSU.
