Oregon has really challenged itself to start the season, and we have to give it a lot of credit for doing so.

Instead of playing some terrible mid-major teams, the Ducks are going to give teams a chance to beat them, which should not only help them come Big Ten time, but College Football Playoff committee time.

Oregon started off the season against a Boise State team that has a real chance of making the playoffs, taking them down 34-27.

Oregon will also play Oklahoma State on Saturday, a slightly above-average Power Four squad. It's definitely not unfair to say that Oklahoma State isn't a good program by any means, and this is a game Oregon should win relatively easily, but it's also not unfair to suggest that the Ducks should at least get some credit for taking on these types of teams.

Oklahoma State also understands the type of program it's about to play, with coaches recently speaking about the opportunity.

“Yeah, he's good. This team is full of good players. Obviously, they've done a phenomenal job of building this thing. This is year five for Dan, and he's done a phenomenal job of putting pieces around him, too.”

“When you look at it collectively, the resources, the investment and what they've been able to do there consistently — going to two back-to-back College Football Playoffs, winning some games last year. He has a really smooth stroke. The ball gets out fast. Quick release. He's accurate. He's athletic. He's a full-package guy and somebody I think is going to play football for a really long time,” Eric Morris said, per Lily Crane.

Morris was introduced as the head coach back in December, and is in a position where he has to try to fix Oklahoma State and get it back to where it used to be.

The Cowboys used to be a really good program, but simply aren't that any longer. Beating Oregon would be a really nice sign, though the chances of that happening seem very low.
