Even though Ole Miss has secured a spot in the College Football Playoff, the program is entering a new era this December.
Despite having a historic season at Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin has officially agreed to become LSU's next head coach. It's being reported that he received a seven-year contract worth around $90 million. Shortly after he left Oxford, the Rebels named Pete Golding their head coach and worked hard to retain quarterbacks coach Joe Judge.
"There’s early momentum on keeping staff at Ole Miss for new coach Pete Golding. QB coach Joe Judge, a longtime NFL coordinator and head coach, has agreed to stay on staff," ESPN's Pete Thamel said. "Ole Miss officials are being aggressive with staff salaries, as there’s a high focus on retention. Judge's role hasn't been formalized yet, but Ole Miss officials and Golding made clear early on he was a priority staff member to stay in Oxford. He coached Trinidad Chambliss and Jaxson Dart while in Oxford."
Judge, who coached the New York Giants from 2020-21, has done exceptional work at Ole Miss over the past two seasons.
On Tuesday night, Judge posted a photo of him and Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss along with this caption: "Onto the next game.. 1-0!"
Some fans are convinced Judge was throwing shade at Kiffin, but it might just be an appreciation post for his quarterback.
Chambliss has been exceptional this season, throwing for 3,016 yards with 18 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also has 470 yards and six scores on 118 carries.

Ole Miss welcomes back former coach.
After Kiffin agreed to become LSU's head coach, he added offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. and a few other Ole Miss assistants to his staff. On Tuesday, he revealed that Weis will return to Oxford to finish out his 2025 season.
“With the playoff committee releasing updated rankings tonight, I wanted it to be known that after conversations with LSU, we are allowing Charlie to return to Ole Miss to coach the team during the playoffs,” Kiffin said. “I’ve already made the committee aware of this and I’m hopeful this decision will allow Ole Miss to receive the highest ranking possible because these great players are very deserving of that. I’m excited that Charlie will be back to help coach the greatest team in the history of Ole Miss.”
Kiffin won't be coaching Ole Miss in the CFP. The program made that abundantly clear this past weekend.
