Ole Miss football roasted for ‘fourth-place’ rings

It’s no secret that Ole Miss football had an outstanding 2025 season.

The program finished with a 13-2 record, making it the first time the school has ever won 13 games in a single season. Ole Miss beat Tulane and Georgia in the College Football Playoff before coming up just short in the CFP semifinals against Miami.

The Ole Miss-Miami game was a fantastic back-and-forth affair, but in the end, Miami won, 31-27. Despite that, Ole Miss is still celebrating its 2025 season, showcasing a ring for it on its social media.

It didn’t take long for college football fans to roast the team for this.

“Participation trophies are dumb. There are only two rings:
Conference champ ring and overall championship ring. The end. Get a trophy for the school to win a bowl game, but anything less than an actual championship is stupid,” one fan tweeted.

“Yeah, I’m out on this. Rings are for champs,” another fan tweeted.

“When did Ole Miss turn into Miami?” another tweet read.

“Participation trophy generation. Ridiculous waste of money,” another tweet read.

The Rebels will try to go on an even deeper CFP run this year now that quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is officially back. They’ll open the 2026 season at home against the Louisville Cardinals on Sept. 6.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
