Ole Miss – Missouri OPEN thread

Today’s game is very likely a playoff elimination game for one of these teams and that needs to sink in for all the fans out there watching.

Coming out of week seven with two losses gives you only one option if you want to make the top 12 come December, and that one option is winning every single game, no mistakes, no excuses. For Ole Miss and Missouri, you’ve got Georgia and Texas remaining on the schedule not to mention your remaining SEC schedule, which makes it an incredibly tough road.

Could this be the first year a 9-3 team makes the playoff? It’s possible, but it wouldn’t be a position either fanbase wants to be in come selection day.

This is no grudge match, according to Austin Simmons the former Ole Miss QB returning to Oxford, so this should be all about football and no drama. It’s also a return for wide receiver Cayden Lee who has as many touchdowns already this year as he did the last two seasons at Ole Miss.

When I visited my local beer and tobacco store this week, my cashier assured me Ole Miss only had to stop running back Ahmad Hardy, a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and that Simmons would revert to his Rebel playing days and turnover the ball like always. It’s that kind of confidence a true fan has – or maybe it was just the beer talking.

Drop your reactions, hate, celebration or general thoughts below. Cheers!
