The SEC began requiring schools to provide an availability report back in 2024. As LSU gets ready to face Ole Miss, quarterback Sam Leavitt was found on the injury report. Leavitt was listed as doubtful according to the report.
Now, Ole Miss is reacting to the report, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.
“No one on the Ole Miss staff is convinced LSU QB Sam Leavitt’s appearance as ‘doubtful’ on the injury report is sincere and he’ll miss the game on Saturday, per sources,” Thamel posted on X, formerly Twitter.

According to the policy put up by the SEC, a player who is listed as doubtful is “unlikely to play/25% chance to play.” There is a duty to act in good faith when complying with the policy and to continue to update the status of a player.
While there are doubts about the validity of the report because Lane Kiffin is the one providing the information, Kiffin has not been known to manipulate the report, according to Bud Elliott of CBS Sports.
“13 of the 14 times Ole Miss under Kiffin L2 years listed a guy as doubtful he didn’t start. Jordan Watkins did in 2014 and was leading WR in upset of Georgia. Tons of guys listed as questionable did end up going,” Elliott posted on X, formerly Twitter.
If Leavitt is not able to go, Elon transfer Landen Clark will be the starter. Clark has completed seven of ten passes for 109 yards and a touchdown so far this year, while also running for 42 yards and another score.
