Ole Miss Rebels running back Kewan Lacy exited Saturday's game with the LSU Tigers with a shoulder injury. We now know his status going forward.

Lacy is uncertain for the Florida game after he had an MRI, but there is superb news. There seems to be no major structural issues with his shoulder and it "was not as bad as we thought," Ole Miss coach Pete Golding said.

The 4th-ranked Rebels beat LSU 32-24 in Lane Kiffin's return to Oxford. Lacy was ruled out in the second half of the SEC contest.

Ole Miss is still a talented team without Lacy in the backfield, but he's certainly one of the most explosive playmakers on the field. His ability to grind out tough yards will be missed until he returns.

Lacy wanted to play through the pain, but was shut down by Ole Miss' training staff. JT Lindsey took over and played well. The Rebels rushing attack is averaging 114 yards per game with Lacy responsible for the bulk of that production. Lindsey and Mekhi Frazier will be relied on more with Lacy recovering.

Lacy is regarded as one of the top running backs in the nation. The Doak Walker Award finalist set Ole Miss records for rushing attempts (306), yards (1,567) and touchdowns (24) last season. He has 39 carries this season for 191 yards and four touchdowns.

Ole Miss travels to Florida on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC).
