Ole Miss vs. Tulane in CFP first round: Get ready for Playoff matchup

The College Football Playoff bracket was revealed Sunday, Dec. 7. The first round games will be on campus sites.

One of the first round matchups will feature a pair of teams who will have new head coaches in 2026. Lane Kiffin bolted Ole Miss for LSU and will not coach in the CFP. Defensive coordinator Pete Golding was promoted to head coach and will lead the Rebels in the playoff, while offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. is sticking around to help before joining Kiffin in Baton Rouge.

However, despite Tulane coach Jon Sumrall accepting the Florida job, he will coach the Green Wave throughout its playoff run.

These teams played Sept. 22 and the Rebels routed the Green Wave, 45-10. Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss threw for 307 yards and rushed for 112 more, while Tulane QB Jake Retzlaff struggled with just 56 passing yards in the loss.
