OPENING ODDS: Notre Dame is an OBSCENE favorite over the Stanford Cardinal

Notre Dame just extended their double-digit winning streak to 15 games after its 37-26 victory over North Carolina, but it was still around half as much as what the spread was for this game. That failure to cover the spread, didn’t have any effect on what the oddsmakers have for the Irish this week.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Notre Dame is a 37.5 point favorite over the Stanford Cardinal with an over/under of 54.5 points.
Stanford just got absolutely cooked by the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, 57-3, so as big as this line looks… it’s probably a good indicator of just how bad Stanford football has become in 2026.
One other line of note for Notre Dame has to do with the National Championship. Despite a subpar overall performance against North Carolina, Notre Dame’s odds to win a national championship took a big leap. The Irish and Georgia are both listed at +550 to win the title, while the only team with better odds is the Ohio State Buckeyes at +410.
And while we’re at it… the Heisman Trophy has a real leader right now in Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith. CJ Carr, however, isn’t sitting in a bad spot to make a move in November.
