Oregon availability report: Latest injury updates vs. USC

Conference play begins this week for the Oregon Ducks as they head down south for a massive rivalry game against the USC Trojans. The stakes are high, as both teams look to prove that they are worthy to compete among the best of the best this year for a spot in the College Football Playoff and a potential national championship.

Unfortunately, both teams are also dealing with injuries already at this early juncture.

The Ducks have had a couple of starters banged up so far, with offensive lineman Trent Ferguson being ruled out for the season, while starting tight end Jamari Johnson has missed time, and starting wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan will miss the next several weeks, at least, with a broken foot. On the other side of the ball, USC has been without defensive star Jahkeem Stewart all season, and freshman wide receiver Trent Mosley is also dealing with an ailment, among many others.

Fortunately, we are at the point of the college football season where conference play has begun, and we get availability reports throughout the week as we prepare for games. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, the Big Ten Conference will release the statuses of several players, with teams classifying them as out, doubtful, or questionable.

A final availability report will then be released two hours prior to kickoff on Saturday. Here is a look at the first availability report for the Ducks and Trojans.
