The Oregon Ducks got a positive update on the status of sophomore running back Jordon Davison after practice on Wednesday.

According to running backs coach Ra’Shaad Samples, Davison did participate in practice on Wednesday, despite injury rumors.

"That kid just practiced his butt off," Samples told reporters after practice. "He had a really good day of practice."

On Wednesday morning, Ducks Wire reported that Davison had reaggravated a past collarbone injury and was expected to miss 6-8 weeks. After further reporting, there was an update that staff held optimism that the injury wasn’t as bad as originally anticipated, and the recovery timeline would be shorter. Further testing was pending.

Now, according to Samples, it’s clear that Davison is healthy enough to continue to practice with the Ducks as fall camp continues.

Davison, who rushed for 667 yards and 15 touchdowns as a true freshman last year, missed Oregon’s final game of the year in the College Football Playoff Semifinal against the Indiana Hoosiers after suffering a broken collarbone in the Orange Bowl win over Texas Tech. Davison rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns in that game, despite reportedly suffering the injury early in the game.

Oregon fans can breathe a sigh of relief regarding Davison's health. The sophomore back was at practice and is expected to continue to practice before the Ducks take the field on Sept. 5 to begin the season against Boise State.
