The saga continues out in Ohio for one of the Oregon Ducks' most valued commits in the 2027 recruiting cycle. After missing one week with his eligibility stripped, linebacker Brayton Feister and his younger brother, Brydon, were cleared to play at Massillon Washington High School. The decision was first reported by the Canton Repository, part of the USA TODAY Network.

The Fifth District Court of Appeals cleared the Feisters to suit up and return to the field on Friday, granting a preliminary permanent injunction and allowing the brothers to play on Oct. 16 against Warren Harding High School. The new ruling overrides the previous ruling by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), which ruled the brothers ineligible on Oct. 5.

The OHSAA argued the Feisters transferred to Massillon from Archbishop Hoban following disciplinary issues at the state wrestling championships. The OHSAA also alleged Feister's father contacted other schools about enrollment before making the move to Massillon. The brothers were denied an appeal a week ago by a Stark County judge.

Now ruled eligible to play, the Feisters will have an opportunity to support and continue Massillon's season, which suffered its first loss last week. The OHSAA could still attempt to bar the brothers from play with further legal action, but with the regular season slated to end later this month, there likely is not enough time for any decision to end the dispute before the season concludes.

Brayton Feister, a 6-foot-2 linebacker and running back, is the No. 131 player in the 2027 recruiting class, per Rivals, and is part of Oregon's class, which ranks No. 4 in the nation. He chose the Ducks over California, Georgia and Ohio State. As a junior at Archbishop Hoban, Feister made 133 tackles with 39 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. As a running back, Feister had 1,098 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. Feister is one of four linebackers in Oregon's class and could compete for early playing time next season.

Feister will finish his senior season with Massillon, even though the OHSAA could pursue further action.
