You may have thought that the Oregon Ducks were all done with the 2026 recruiting class after National Signing Day, where Dan Lanning inked a third-straight top-five ranked class with a school record five 5-star players, but you would have been wrong.
On Monday, Oregon added a late member to the class ahead of the traditional signing day in February, picking up a commitment from 4-star RB Brandon Smith, the No. 337 player and No. 21 RB in the 2026 class.
Smith was previously committed to the Arizona Wildcats, but after receiving an offer from Oregon on January 17, he decommitted, and chose the Ducks instead. Smith signed with the Wildcats back in December, but was granted a release from that signing before committing to the Ducks. He is now expected to officially sign with Oregon on February 4.

It is unclear why Smith was released from his NLI.
Smith will add needed depth to the Ducks' RB room, where youth is abundant but bodies are limited after several departures to the transfer portal. Both Dierre Hill Jr. and Jordon Davison are back in 2026, along with redshirt sophomore Da'Jaun Riggs. The Ducks also have incoming freshman Tradarian Ball in the room as well.
