The Oregon Ducks got a win on the recruiting trail to kick off the second week of June, taking a talented player from a former conference foe.

According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, 3-star wide receiver Malachi Garlington is flipping his commitment from the Washington State Cougars and joining the Ducks' 2027 class instead. Garlington stands at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, and took an official visit to Oregon this past weekend.

Garlington — a Happy Valley, OR resident, and the No. 5 player in the state — announced his commitment to Washington State just last week on June 4. However, the Ducks offered him a day later, and following a visit to Eugene, he quickly changed his decision.

Garlington is rated as the No. 196 wide receiver in the 2027 class, and the No. 1,588 player in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Garlington is scheduled to take an official visit to Washington State this next weekend, but we will see if he still makes that trip following this commitment flip.
