Oregon Ducks Flood Phil Steele's 2026 Preseason All-American Teams

The 2026 college football season is right around the corner, which means the Oregon Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning are beginning to gear up for another shot at the National Championship.

Luckily for the program, Lanning's incredible efforts to retain multiple veterans and land a few key players in the transfer portal this offseason have put the Ducks right back in contention for a title in 2026. The strong showing in the player acquisition department has also caught the attention of the national media, with many of Oregon's top players named to the Preseason All-American Teams.

Earlier this offseason, longtime college football analyst Phil Steele released his 2026 Preseason All-American Teams, with eight Ducks making the cut before the season:

  • QB Dante Moore (1st Team)
  • IDL A'Mauri Washington (1st Team)
  • SAF Koi Perich (1st Team)
  • C Iapani Laloulu (3rd Team)
  • CB Brandon Finney (3rd Team)
  • TE Jamari Johnson (4th Team)
  • EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei (4th Team)
  • IDL Bear Alexander (4th Team)

One of the most important returners for Lanning and Oregon this year is quarterback Dante Moore, who has quickly become a favorite for the 2026 Heisman Trophy. The former highly-touted high school prospect threw for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns last season, and instead of entering the 2026 NFL Draft, Moore will return to Eugene in order to seek revenge.

Alongside Moore on the First Team are fellow returner A'Mauri Washington and transfer portal addition Koi Perich. Washington was a staple for the Ducks' defensive line last season, finishing with 33 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. And with the departure of star safety Dillon Thieneman, Perich is the perfect replacement to command the secondary unit in 2026.

Outside of the Ducks' top three playmakers for the upcoming season, the program features two rising stars in cornerback Brandon Finney and tight end Jamari Johnson. As a true freshman, Finney put the college football world on notice by recording 42 tackles, seven pass deflections, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles in 2025.

Johnson, on the other hand, was overshadowed by 2026 first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq, but with the tight end room to himself this year, it's clear that the talented playmaker will have a much larger role on offense.
