Oregon Ducks land in-state 3-star EDGE Josh Christensen

The state of Oregon belongs to the Ducks on the recruiting trail.

Three-star edge rusher Josh Christensen announced his commitment to the Oregon Ducks on Friday, giving the Ducks the top four high school players in the state in the 2027 recruiting cycle. Christensen chose Oregon over Washington, Cal and Oklahoma.

The Lake Oswego pass rusher is the No. 2 player in Oregon, trailing only corner Josiah Molden, who committed to the Ducks back in April. Christensen took an official visit to Eugene last weekend before wrapping up his visits this week at Cal. However, it seemed like a battle between the Ducks and Huskies throughout.

The 6-foot-6, 250-pound edge is only rising as a prospect, and his large frame could allow him to add some weight and move inside. Christensen helped Lake Oswego win a state title last season and was a First-Team All-State selection.

Oregon has added to the defensive line in the 2027 class, pulling in five-star Rashad Streets and four-star Cam Pritchett as potential edge pieces. They don’t have a ton of depth on the interior, however, and Christensen could thrive there if he bulks up because of his length and power rushing ability.

Molden and Christensen are the top high school recruits in Oregon this cycle, and the Ducks have landed both. The third and fourth-ranked prospects in the state, three-star tight end George VanSandt and three-star wideout Malachi Garlington, have also committed to Oregon.
