It has been a long and eventful early signing period, and the tease of fireworks from Dan Lanning has been permeating in Eugene. Now, at long last, it appears that they could be coming soon.

On Thursday morning, multiple predictions came down for the Oregon Ducks to officially flip 5-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. from the Ohio State Buckeyes. There have been expectations that this could happen over the past 24 hours, ever since Henry Jr. was reportedly "shocked" by the departure of Buckeyes' offensive coordinator Brian Hartline on Wednesday morning, not long before his expected signing.

As a Mater Dei prospect in Southern California, Henry is one of the most coveted players in this class, ranked by the 247 Sports Composite as the No. 10 player in the class, and No. 1 WR. He stands at 6-foot-5, 205 pounds, and offers a lengthy body type that the Ducks don’t currently have on their roster.

Henry had been committed to the Buckeyes for years, going back to the summer of 2023, but Oregon maintained a solid relationship with him and recruited him hard down the stretch. He is now expected to come to Eugene as one of the top-ranked players in the class, and one of six 5-star players in Oregon’s signing class, which is the most in the nation.
