Oregon Football 2026 Schedule: Full Breakdown, Season Outlook

Oregon has been painfully close to playing for the national championship over the last few years, and at the very least, this year’s team should have the schedule to get back in the mix.

It’s not a total breeze, but over the last four years, six of the seven Duck losses were to teams that either won or played in the national championship in their respective seasons.

Here’s our breakdown of the 2026 Oregon schedule.

Oregon’s Best and Worst Case Scenarios in 2026

The Good

There aren’t two road games in a row. There might not be long stretches of home dates, but there’s just one road date at Illinois from late September to early November.

Getting three games against teams that didn’t go bowling last year within the first five games should help, but …

The Bad

There’s just no way to get comfortable.

There isn’t a team on the schedule that Oregon can’t beat, but other than Portland State, there isn’t a game that would be that shocking if it lost.

There’s no room for any sort of letup or lack of focus.

What Big Ten Teams Oregon Will Miss

Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Wisconsin.

There are a few tough road games to deal with, but not having to play Indiana, Iowa, or Penn State is a huge break. Not facing Minnesota or Wisconsin this year should be a plus, too.

Best Case: Get to November unbeaten

November is when there’s a problem with a trip to Ohio State followed up by Michigan, followed up by a date at Michigan State, and closed out with a showdown against Washington.

Oregon gets to November 8-0 – with wins at USC and Illinois, and no stubbed toes against Nebraska, Northwestern, or UCLA.

They lose once in November, but it doesn’t matter. The Ducks get to at least ten wins.

Worst Case: The road games aren’t easy

Realistically, Oregon should blow through most of this schedule, but the bar is set higher than simply going to a bowl game.

They lose the Big Ten opener at USC, but the real problem is a bad day in Champaign against Illinois to put the pressure on the rest of the season. The date at Ohio State is a must-win moment, and the Ducks don’t come through.

Oregon Football 2026 Schedule

Sept 5 Boise State
Sept 12 at Oklahoma State
Sept 19 Portland State
Sept 26 at USC
Oct 3 OPEN DATE
Oct 10 UCLA
Oct 17 Nebraska
Oct 24 at Illinois
Oct 31 Northwestern
Nov 7 at Ohio State
Nov 14 Michigan
Nov 21 at Michigan State
Nov 28 Washington

Games That Will Decide Oregon’s Season

1. at USC, Sept. 26
USC will see this as the breakthrough moment for its 2026 season. Oregon has to prove it’s the team to beat in the Big Ten in the conference opener.

2. at Ohio State, Nov. 7
The Ducks can probably lose this and be just fine, but realistically, win, and they’re in the College Football Playoff.

3. Michigan, Nov. 14
One way or another, Oregon will have to crank up the focus and intensity coming off the trip to Ohio State.
