There aren’t a lot of four-year starters for St. John Bosco High School — but that’s exactly what three-star edge rusher Dutch Horisk was for the Braves. With his signing today, he’s set to join the Oregon Ducks.

Standing 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds, Horisk had a productive high school career and established himself as one of the top pass rushers in the West, receiving offers from Arizona, Auburn, Cal, USC, Texas A&M and others. But the Bellflower, CA, native eventually chose Oregon, signing his name in ink and officially becoming a Duck.

Oregon’s edge rushers have a been a bit disappointing this season, registering a lower number of sacks than expected coming into the year. Though Horisk may not contribute right away, he’ll enter as a talented addition to the room.

Dutch Horisk EDGE Outlook

As a three-star in a position room full of four- and five-stars, it’s unlikely that Horisk will contribute right away. He’ll likely utilize a redshirt, building more muscle onto his frame and potentially cracking the rotation in 2027 or 2028.

Oregon EDGE Depth Chart

Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti have held down the edges this season, with Blake Purchase, Nasir Wyatt, Tobi Haastrup, Elijah Rushing and Ashton Porter providing depth. Horisk figures to be behind each of them and fellow 2026 recruit in five-star edge Anthony “Tank” Jones. It will be difficult for Horisk to establish a role early in his career, but he’ll likely have a better chance to be in the rotation once he is an upperclassmen.

Oregon 2026 Class Outlook

Going into the Early Signing Period, the Ducks are expected to sign a fourth-straight top-10 class, and there’s a good chance that they ink another top-5 class, challenging for the best signing class in program history yet again under Dan Lanning. While Oregon may not have the size of class that we’ve seen in the past, pushing 30 recruits, it does rank as the best in the nation when it comes to the average rating of recruits. The Ducks focused on quality over quantity this cycle, and they’re bringing in a handful of the best players in the nation as members of the 2026 class.
