Oregon Football 2026 Signing Day: Ducks land 4-Star DL Anthony Jones

On Wednesday morning, Jones announced that he would be committing to the Oregon Ducks in the 2026 class. Not long after, he officially signed with the Ducks as well.

Jones is rated by 247Sports as a 4-star player who is the No. 35 DL in the class. According to the 247Sports Composite, he is the No. 439 player in the class. Jones originally committed to UCLA, but went back on his commitment after coach DeShaun Foster was fired. He recommitted to the Bruins, but didn’t sign in December and decided to part ways with the new coaching staff that came in.

Jones now joins a talented group of defensive linemen in the 2026 class: five-star Tank Jones, four-star Tony Cumberland, four-star Prince Tavizon, and three-star edge Dutch Horisk.

Anthony Jones Position Outlook

It’s going to be tough for Anthony Jones to crack the rotation anytime in the next year for the Ducks, with there being so much talent and depth already at the position. With guys like A’Mauri Washington and Bear Alexander returning, plus a handful of incoming transfers, Jones will likely redshirt for a year before seeing the field.

Oregon DL Position Outlook

With both A’Mauri Washington and Bear Alexander returning for another year, Oregon is set to have one of the best defensive lines in the nation next year. Of course, they lost a bit of depth in the transfer portal, with guys like Tionne Gray, Terrance Green, and Jericho Johnson leaving, but they’ve done a good job in the transfer portal to back-fill the depth.
