It was a bit of a roller-coaster of a recruitment, but the Oregon Ducks ended up bringing star IOL Tommy Tofi to Eugene in the end, signing him to the 2026 class on Wednesday.

Tofi, a 4-star IOL, officially signed with the Ducks‘ 2026 class, which was not always a certainty after he announced a surprise commitment to the California Golden Bears early this summer. However, Dan Lanning and the Ducks did not give up, and eventually flipped him back from the Golden Bears, making him one of the top offensive linemen in Oregon’s class.

Coming from San Francisco, Tofi is one of the biggest players in Oregon’s current class, standing at 6-foot-6, 330 pounds, and is projected to be a dominant force on the interior offensive line.

Tommy Tofi Position Outlook

It will be interesting to see how quickly Tofi is able to carve out a role on this offensive line and work his way up the depth chart. He is one of the top-ranked offensive linemen in this class, and his size will allow him the opportunity to turn heads early on. However, the Ducks have been recruiting at a high level over the past few years, especially in the trenches, so it’s not going to be easy for Tofi to earn a starting spot right away.

While the Ducks are expected to lose a lot of their starting offensive linemen — Iapani Laloulu, Isaiah World, Alex Harkey, Emmanuel Pregnon — to the NFL this year, there are a lot of players waiting in the wings for their opportunity. Tofi will have a chance to compete for snaps, but he’s going to have to go up against the likes of Kawika Rogers, Douglas Utu, Devin Brooks, and Demetri Manning.

Oregon 2026 Class Outlook

Going into the Early Signing Period, the Ducks are expected to sign a fourth-straight top-10 class, and there’s a good chance that they ink another top-5 class, challenging for the best signing class in program history yet again under Dan Lanning. While Oregon may not have the size of class that we’ve seen in the past, pushing 30 recruits, it does rank as the best in the nation when it comes to the average rating of recruits. The Ducks focused on quality over quantity this cycle, and they’re bringing in a handful of the best players in the nation as members of the 2026 class.
