Dan Lanning has made recruiting tight ends an emphasis ever since he got to Oregon, finding success with guys like Terrance Ferguson and Kenyon Sadiq. It looks as if he struck gold once again in North Carolina native Kendre Harrison.
At 6-foot-7 and 243 pounds, Harrison is going to be a tough matchup for any defender in the country. One of the pluses for Lanning and the Ducks is that the tight end position is usually a big part of the game plan on a weekly basis, which attracts the top talent from around the country, and Harrison isn’t any different.
It’s still a question of how soon Harrison moves up that depth chart, but it shouldn’t surprise anyone when he does and finds himself on the field sooner rather than later.

Kendre Harrison Position Outlook
When it comes to receivers and tight ends, Dan Lanning doesn’t mess around, and it looks as if he managed to sign the best tight end in this class. At 6-foot-7 and 243 pounds, Harrison is going to present some unique challenges for opposing defenses.
Oregon Tight End Depth Chart
There’s no question about it, Oregon is going to miss Sadiq. But the Ducks like to say they have strength in numbers and that definitely fits the tight end position. Jamari Johnson still has two more years of eligibility remaining and barring injury, he will be the starting tight end in 2026. Roger Saleapaga should push for a lot more playing time in 2026 as well as Vander Ploog. If Harrison is as good as expected, he will definitely find a role next year thanks to the size he brings and the mismatch he can present on the outside.
Oregon 2026 Class Outlook
Going into the Early Signing Period, the Ducks are expected to sign a fourth-straight top-10 class, and there’s a good chance that they ink another top-5 class, challenging for the best signing class in program history yet again under Dan Lanning. While Oregon may not have the size of class that we’ve seen in the past, pushing 30 recruits, it does rank as the best in the nation when it comes to the average rating of recruits. The Ducks focused on quality over quantity this cycle, and they’re bringing in a handful of the best players in the nation as members of the 2026 class.
