Oregon Football 2026 Signing Day: Ducks land 5-Star WR Jalen Lott

The Oregon Ducks might be QBU, but as the last few signing periods have indicated, Oregon might rival Ohio State as Wide Receiver U in the near future. Dan Lanning has continued this new tradition with the signing of 5-star receiver Jalen Lott out of Frisco, Texas.

The 6-foot, 176-pounder is one of the top receivers in the country and one of the top athletes to come out of the state of Texas. He’ll have a chance to compete right away for playing time as a true freshman, but that receiver room is loaded with talent, so it might be a little tougher to break through at Oregon than it would have been at other spots. Lott obviously likes a challenge, which will only be beneficial for the Ducks.

Jalen Lott Position Outlook

With his size, Lott might be a good slot receiver with the Ducks. His speed makes him a dangerous deep threat as well. Lott could be compared to Tez Johnson as he possesses similar traits with greater size.

Oregon Wide Receiver Depth Chart

Oregon’s receiver room was deep and talented for the 2025 season and that shouldn’t change for 2026. Even without Malik Benson and Gary Bryant Jr., the Ducks will have Dakorien Moore and Jeremiah McClellan to lead the way. Experience, or the lack of it, might be a factor in 2026, which could help Lott break through on the depth chart, but the Ducks are as talented as just about anyone in the WR room.

Oregon 2026 Class Outlook

Going into the Early Signing Period, the Ducks are expected to sign a fourth-straight top-10 class, and there’s a good chance that they ink another top-5 class, challenging for the best signing class in program history yet again under Dan Lanning. While Oregon may not have the size of class that we’ve seen in the past, pushing 30 recruits, it does rank as the best in the nation when it comes to the average rating of recruits. The Ducks focused on quality over quantity this cycle, and they’re bringing in a handful of the best players in the nation as members of the 2026 class.
