The Oregon football team has had some setbacks this season. Oregon is trying to pick up a Big Ten conference win on Saturday, against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Oregon is making an interesting decision on their starting quarterback for the contest.
“Oregon is set to start QB Brock Thomas over Dylan Raiola against Nebraska,” On3 reported on X, formerly Twitter.
Raiola formerly played for Nebraska, which is why this is such an interesting move. He started plenty of games for the Cornhuskers over the last few seasons. This last offseason, he transferred to Oregon.

Raiola was working as a backup at Oregon to start the season. The Ducks are without starting quarterback Dante Moore, who suffered a concussion during the team’s game against USC. That thrust Raiola back into the spotlight.
Oregon head coach Dan Lanning acknowledged Saturday’s game will be an emotional one for Raiola.
“Of course, it’s going to be an emotional game for Dylan, being the place he came from,” Lanning said, per ESPN. “He’s going to do everything he can to make sure our team is in the best situation to have success this week and be prepared. … I know he’ll do that because he’s a pro.”
This season, Raiola struggled in a game against UCLA. In that game he completed just six passes for 43 passing yards. He also had two interceptions in that contest.
Raiola has posted 456 passing yards, five touchdown passes and two interceptions on the campaign. He has played in three games this year for Oregon.
Thomas meanwhile has 172 passing yards this season with a touchdown. He saw a lot of action in the team’s loss to UCLA. In that contest, Thomas posted 156 passing yards and a touchdown throw.
Oregon is 3-2 on the season. The Ducks and Nebraska play Saturday at 11:00 PM ET. Nebraska is 5-1 on the season.
