Oregon Ducks football star defensive tackle A’Mauri Washington left Saturday’s game against Oklahoma State and headed to the locker room with trainers during the second quarter. The development left the No. 6 Ducks without a key piece of their defensive front as they trail 24-17 at halftime at Boone Pickens Stadium.
Ducks Wire’s Zachary Neel took to X, formerly Twitter, to provide the following in-game update. No diagnosis or potential return timeline had been reported at the time of his post.
“Oregon DT A’Mauri Washington is walking back to the locker room with trainers.”

Washington entered Saturday as one of Oregon’s most important returning defenders after starting all 15 games in 2025. The 6-foot-3, 330-pound senior recorded career highs of 33 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks while earning third-team All-Big Ten honors.
The Detroit native elected to return for his senior season rather than enter the NFL draft, giving Oregon an experienced presence in the middle of its defensive line. He already missed time with an injury during fall camp before returning for the Ducks’ season opener.
His latest setback adds another concern for Oregon, which entered the Oklahoma State matchup without tight end Jamari Johnson because of an undisclosed injury. Washington started Saturday alongside Bear Alexander on the interior, with Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti working off the edge.
Before exiting, Washington helped stop a third-and-1 run but also committed an offsides penalty that extended an Oklahoma State drive.
Saturday’s game already experienced a lengthy disruption before the star defensive lineman’s exit. Thunderstorms and lightning near Stillwater delayed kickoff and interrupted both teams’ pregame preparations.
Washington left the field under his own power with trainers, but Oregon had not provided an injury diagnosis or announced whether he could return for the second half.
