Oregon football escaped with a 34-27 win over Boise State on Saturday. The Broncos held an early lead but the Ducks were able to complete the comeback. No. 2 Oregon did not play up to its expectations, though. Dan Lanning shared his honest thoughts on the team’s performance after the game, via CBS Sports College Football.

“We won the game, it starts there. There’s a lot to fix, there’s a lot to clean up,” Lanning said. “I think these guys are going to come out motivated… We didn’t play as well as we can play today.

“Boise State did a great job. We didn’t. We had enough at the end.”

Ducks quarterback Dante Moore played well, as he threw for 378 yards to go along with three touchdowns. Nevertheless, the overall team performance was underwhelming. This Oregon football team has high expectations and they want to perform better overall. They are in a quality position with Moore leading the way, though.

“Our quarterback played well throughout the day, so kudos to him,” Lanning said of Moore’s play.

Lanning also explained how a difficult game like the one Oregon played on Saturday can benefit the team down the road.

“It reveals character,” the Oregon football head coach said. “… We see who we are, we see if we are a team that wants to go attack what we want to improve on.”

Dan Lanning, Dante Moore and Oregon will play Oklahoma State in their next game next Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 PM ET.
