If there's one thing Oregon football is known for outside of the talent it produces on the field, it's pushing the boundaries of uniform design.
Thanks in large part to the program's longstanding brand relationship with Nike and Oregon alumnus Phil Knight, the Ducks have built a national reputation for unveiling eye-catching, special-edition looks and rolling out new uniform combinations on what seems like a weekly basis.
The latest reveal comes ahead of Saturday's matchup against UCLA, Oregon's longtime Pac-12 turned Big Ten rival.
The Ducks will break out their "Origin of Speed" uniform on Saturday against the Bruins in a matchup featuring two teams looking to remain unbeaten in Big Ten play. A victory would continue Oregon's dominance in the series, giving the Ducks their 12th win in the last 13 meetings with UCLA dating back to 2008.
Oregon, which will start backup quarterback Dylan Raiola vs. the Bruins with Dante Moore sidelined due to a concussion still, is set for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff against No. 22 UCLA at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday.
Here's what to know about the Ducks' uniforms for their Week 6 game against the Bruins:
Oregon 'Origin of Speed' football uniform for UCLA game, explained
The Ducks are wearing a special edition "Origin of Speed" uniform for their Week 6 game against UCLA.
As noted by Nike, the "Origin of Speed" uniform is the final installment in Nike and Oregon's three-year Generation O Series. The design also draws inspiration from Hayward Field, the Ducks' original football home from 1919 to 1966 and the centerpiece stadium of Oregon's renowned track and field program.
It was announced on Sept. 26 that the Ducks would wear this "Origin of Speed" uniform set for their Big Ten home opener.

The Ducks' "Origin of Speed" uniform was a two-year design process that included several players on the current roster. The details of the uniform draw inspiration from Hayward Field's legacy as the birthplace of speed and the athletes who shaped Oregon's track and football traditions.
"Growing up, I always loved the uniforms that Oregon wore," Oregon defensive back Aaron Flowers said in a statement. "Being part of something that's special, building a new uniform, really impressed me a lot and I'm just really grateful for it."
Those details include the base color of the uniform being Nike's darkest shade of green, "Night Forest," while the numerals on the uniform feature the debut of a new shade called "Green Strike," which pulls from the seating within Hayward Field.
The helmet and the shoulders of the jersey feature a kinetic wing, which represents energy, at 26.2 degrees, the same distance as a marathon.
Another notable detail of the uniform is the Oregon "O" on the shoulder, which is inspired by the architecture of Hayward Field and Autzen Stadium. The inner ring of the "O" is the shape of a track oval and includes six track lanes, the original number utilized at Hayward Field. The fourth and fifth lanes are set off in different colors, a tribute to two Ducks who wore those numerals and passed away in recent years: Spencer Webb and Khyree Jackson.

Will Oregon football wear its 'Origin of Speed' uniforms again this season?
It appears to be a one-and-done for Oregon's "Origin of Speed" uniforms after Saturday's game. This comes to no surprise, though, as the Ducks have a deep catalog of uniforms at their disposal thanks to their partnership with Nike.
