Oregon football will have to find a way to beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers this coming Saturday without quarterback Dante Moore in uniform.
The senior quarterback has been ruled out for the Cornhuskers game as he deals with an apparent injury, though the Oregon Ducks have yet to determine which quarterback will be under center to start the upcoming game, according to Pete Nakos of On3.
“Oregon QB Dante Moore is out again this week, per the Big Ten injury report. Dylan Raiola, Brock Thomas and Akili Smith Jr. have all been taking reps at practice. No QB decision yet for the Ducks,” Nakos wrote in a social media post on X (formerly Twitter).

Oregon football head coach Dan Lanning said earlier in the week that he would let the Big Ten Availability Report reveal Moore’s status. Wednesday’s update makes it clear that the Ducks will roll without Moore, who suffered a concussion in a 41-27 win over the USC Trojans at concussion in Sept. 26’s win over the USC Trojans at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sept. 27.
Raiola took over the chores under center in the USC game after Moore left the field, and he passed for 289 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 19-of-25 pass completions. However, he struggled in last Saturday’s 17-15 loss to the No. 21 UCLA Bruins.
After going just 6-of-19 for 43 passing yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions, Raiola was replaced by Brock Thomas, who went 11-of-15 for 156 passing tyards and a touchdown and no picks.
Thomas’ performance against the Bruins gives him a stronger case to earn a starting nod in place of Moore.
For what it’s worth, Raiola was a former star quarterback at Nebraska, and a potential start for Oregon football against the Cornhuskers sounds like a tasty storyline for football fans.
