Oregon football already suffered a shocking loss in 2026, dropping a Week 2 road game against Oklahoma State as a heavy favorite. Of course, that doesn’t knock the Ducks out of College Football Playoff contention just yet, but with a tough Big Ten schedule ahead, it certainly puts Dan Lanning and company behind the 8-ball.
That tough slate gets underway this week when No. 20 Oregon goes on the road to take on No. 12 USC at The Coliseum in Los Angeles. While that will be a tough ask on its own, the first injury report of the week will make things even tougher for Lanning’s squad. Star tight end Jamari Johnson is listed as questionable, and backup tight end Kendre Harrison’s status is also up in the air for Saturday, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Johnson suffered an undisclosed injury in Week 1 and didn’t play in an 84-0 demolition of Portland State on Friday night in Week 3. He is viewed as one of the top tight end prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft, so it will be a big blow for Dante Moore and the Ducks if he is unable to give it a go.

Oregon is already working without wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan, who suffered a broken foot before the Portland State game and is out for the season. If Moore is working without multiple of his top weapons on Saturday, some of the inconsistency that he has shown at the start of this season could come back to bite him in this game against a USC team that is sure to score a lot of points.
If Johnson is unable to go, look for the stars that Oregon has on the perimeter to see an even bigger role in this game. Evan Stewart is still building chemistry with Moore after missing all of the 2025 season with an injury, and this could be a spot where he sees a lot of targets. Dakorien Moore could also be in line to see more usage if Johnson is out on Saturday.
