Even though the 2027 recruiting class is mostly spoken for, the Oregon Ducks aren’t done yet.

As reported by Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, the top remaining recruit, four-star linebacker Brayton Feister, out of Massillon, OH, has committed to Oregon.

Feister had also received offers from Penn State and Notre Dame.

The win over Notre Dame is significant, since head coach Dan Lanning has been on the losing end of several recruiting battles with the Irish.

Oregon previously lost recruiting battles with Notre Dame for DT Brayden Parks, WR Jackson Coleman and EDGE Darieon Prescott.

Feister was ranked No. 154 overall prospect nationally, the No. 10 athlete and the No. 10 prospect in Ohio by 247Sports, and given his ability to play both sides of the ball, Feister brings an explosiveness that jumps off the page.

On the offensive side of the ball, during his junior season at Archbishop Hoban, he was a fixture in the backfield, rushing 116 times for 1,098 yards and 17 touchdowns.

But it's his tackling ability that separates him from the pack.

He recorded 133 tackles, 39 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions. On top of that, he was named the Division II Co-Defensive Player of the Year and was a finalist for Ohio Mr. Football

Matt Prehm of 247Sports does an exceptional job at pinpointing what makes Feister such a dangerous defender.

“Feister combines the frame and physicality of an old-school inside linebacker with movement skills that allow him to impact plays across the field. At nearly 240 pounds, he frequently looks like one of the biggest defenders on the field, but he doesn't move like a player carrying that kind of weight.”

He then continues, “Whether Feister is shooting a gap, blitzing off a delayed rush or chasing a quarterback toward the sideline, he gets from his starting point to the football quickly. There are multiple examples of quarterbacks attempting to escape the pocket only for Feister's pursuit to completely change the direction of the play.”

Oregon continues to impress when it comes to recruiting for both sides of the ball, and Feister’s commitment only solidifies that.

He will join an already-stacked 2027 class that is ranked fourth overall in the FBS.
