Oregon stock report: Dylan Raiola sky-high after USC win

A lot happened on Saturday night when the Oregon Ducks went into the Memorial Coliseum and beat the USC Trojans 41-27, keeping their College Football Playoff hopes alive, and a lot has transpired since then. From injury updates on quarterback Dante Moore to post-game quotes and player suspensions, these past few days have had it all.

So forgive us for being a couple of days delayed with our weekly Oregon stock report.

After every game of the season, we like to go back and take stock of what happened, looking at which players improved the perception around them the most, and which guys have something more to work on going forward. Saturday was a night when backup quarterback Dylan Raiola stole the show for the Ducks, but several players had massive roles alongside him as well.

Here's a look at some of the top players from the game, and who needs to improve more going forward:

Stock Up: QB Dylan Raiola

I mean, come on.

In a game where he was thrust into the fire and asked to lead his team after an emotionally draining moment, on the road, against a bitter rival, Dylan Raiola couldn't have played any better. He led the Ducks on six scoring drives and helped keep Oregon's playoff hopes alive after starting QB Dante Moore went down with a concussion in the second quarter. Raiola completed 19-of-25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns, and in general, infused the fan base with a ton of confidence after a scary situation with Moore being taken to the hospital in an ambulance. It's unclear how long Moore will be sidelined for, but with Raiola under center until he returns, the Ducks appear to be in good hands.

Stock Up: RB Dierre Hill

We've known for about a year now — it's been 367 days since his breakout against the Penn State Nittany Lions — that Dierre Hill Jr. was a special player. But in Week 4 against the USC Trojans, he really showed something. Hill ran like a man possessed at times, refusing to go down while cutting up between the tackles and zig-zagging across the field while dominating in the screen game. In all, he ended the night with 170 total yards and two touchdowns, and was the driving force behind a third quarter where Oregon scored two quick touchdowns coming out of the half and put the pressure on the Trojans. While Jordon Davison deservedly gets a lot of the shine in Oregon's backfield, Hill showed on Saturday night why he is just as important for this team.

Stock Down: S Koi Perich

It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows on Saturday night. The defense played one of its better games of the year, but the secondary, and in particular, the safeties, struggled. Koi Perich continues to subvert expectations, and he was caught a handful of times in this game, either missing in coverage or taking poor pursuit angles in the running game. After being billed as one of the biggest cogs of this defense coming in from the portal this offseason, we are still waiting to see the return on investment from No. 3.

Stock Up: TE Jamari Johnson

It's hard to imagine that Jamari Johnson's stock could be any higher, but he was arguably the MVP of the game on Saturday if you're considering guys not named Dylan Raiola. Oregon's offense operates at a whole different level when Johnson is in the game, and it's clear how much they missed him two weeks ago against Oklahoma State when he was out with an injury. Johnson finished with seven catches for 119 yards and was one of the biggest difference-makers in this contest.

Stock Down: K Gage Hurych

As far as field goal kicking and extra points go, Gage Hurych was great once again on Saturday, and he remains perfect this year thus far. However, two of Hurych's first three kickoffs went out of bounds for a penalty in this game, giving the Trojans starting field position at the 35-yard line. Against an offense as good as USC's, that's not something you can afford to do.

Stock Up: WR Messiah Hampton

I think this is the third straight week that true freshman WR Messiah Hampton has been mentioned positively in the stock report. He once again showed up in a big way this game, hauling in five catches for 40 yards, but it was the big-play moment that he had — a 3rd and 15 acrobatic catch on a pass from Dylan Raiola in the third quarter — that stands out the most. With Jeremiah McClellan sidelined for a bit with a broken foot, it's clear that Hampton will be able to help shoulder the load.

Stock Up: DL A'Mauri Washington

A'Mauri Washington hasn't quite played up to expectations yet this year after turning down a spot in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft to return to school. However, he had the best game of his season on Saturday, racking up five tackles and one PBU in the game. He was also in on a number of big plays at the line of scrimmage that don't show up in the stat sheet. If this is the Washington that shows up the rest of the way, the Ducks' defense should show quite a bit of improvement.
