It's been a while since the Oregon Ducks have had some good news on the recruiting trail. The Ducks have missed on some talent early in the 2028 cycle, while the 2027 recruiting class gears up for the season with the summer coming to an end.

There is still one big target left on the board for the Ducks in the 2027 class. Four-star linebacker Brayton Feister will announce his commitment on Aug. 14 live on "The Pat McAfee Show" around 9 a.m. PT. Feister has long been an Oregon target and took an official visit to Eugene in June.

The Ducks were expected to have already locked Feister into the class by now, but Feister postponed his original July commitment date. However, the Ducks have kept their foot on the gas and are still the perceived favorites to land the Ohio star. Alongside Oregon, Feister will have hats on the table from Cal, Georgia and Ohio State.

Feister is a big linebacker who doubles as a punishing running back at Massillon Washington High School. At 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, Feister is already well prepared to step into the physical Big Ten and become an impact defender. At The Opening in Beaverton, Feister posted 50 bench press reps of 185 pounds.

As a junior, Feister made 133 tackles with 39 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. As a running back, Feister had 1,098 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. His dominance and big, physical frame are all too similar to Noah Sewell, who starred for the Ducks at linebacker for three seasons.

Georgia and Cal both made a big push for Feister during his official visits. He is the nation's No. 10 linebacker and No. 132 recruit overall, and would be another massive addition to Oregon's class.

The Ducks haven't added a commit to the 2027 class since landing three blue-chip targets in quick succession in early July. Oregon already has three linebackers committed in the class with four-stars Toa Satele and Brandon Lockley Jr., as well as three-star Sam Ngata. Satele is another big linebacker who could transition to the edge, but Feister's size and tackling ability could make him the next tackling machine in the heart of the Ducks' defense.
