The Oregon Ducks will begin the 2026 season against Boise State, hoping to launch the season on the right foot with a big victory over a College Football Playoff contender in the new-look Pac-12. Not only will the Ducks hope to impress the fans in a packed Autzen Stadium, but some of the program's top commits in the 2027 class and top targets in the 2028 cycle will be on campus to see the battle play out.
The Ducks will host more than 20 recruits for Saturday's game, including 11 commits in the 2027 class. Most notably, five-star wideout Dakota Guerrant is making the trip from Michigan to Eugene to watch the matchup, while in-state recruits Josiah Molden, Malachi Garlington, George VanSandt and Josh Christensen will all make the trip.
All four of Oregon's offensive line commits will also be in town. Four-star commits Gus Corsair and Cameron Wagner, as well as three-star commits Avery Michael and Lex Mailangi, will all be in attendance. The Ducks will also host longtime edge rusher commit Cameron Pritchett and Detroit-area tight end Anthony Cartwright III.
Oregon hasn't secured a commitment in the 2028 class yet, but one of Saturday's visitors could be the first. The No. 2 recruit in the class, defensive tackle Kellan Hall, will make his first game day visit in Eugene. The Ducks are serious contenders for the Louisville defender, with Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Ohio State among other programs in pursuit.
Among the biggest changes in the weekend plans surrounds quarterback Tristin Gaines, who is quickly gaining steam as a top target for the Ducks at the position. Gaines is scheduled to visit the Ducks on Oct. 10 for a game against UCLA, but he made a last-minute move to watch the Ducks this weekend as his first game day visit. Oregon is also pursuing quarterback Josiah Boyd in the class, who is visiting LSU this weekend but will be in Eugene for the Portland State game. The Ducks could try to land both passers, but which one commits first could affect the other's recruitment.
Top 100 recruits will be flocking to Autzen Stadium for the weekend matchup. Four-star defensive lineman Aedyn Havili, the top recruit from Washington, and four-star defensive lineman Landen Wade, the No. 3 recruit from Arizona, will be on the sidelines. The Ducks are near the top of the list for both recruits, although there is plenty of runway left in both recruitments. The top tight end in the class, Tytan McNeal, will also visit from Washington.
The Ducks have had tremendous success recruiting out of Michigan in the 2027 cycle, and they will look to continue that success in the following class. Jayden Bell, the No. 6 edge rusher in the class, and Deandre Bidden, the No. 7 wideout and Guerrant's teammate at Harper Woods High School, will both be in town.
Oregon will kick off the season against Boise State from Eugene at 12:30 p.m. PT on Saturday.
