Oregon receiver Evan Stewart was arrested early Sunday morning on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, Portland's KATU reported.

Stewart, 23, was booked at approximately 7 a.m. PT, according to Springfield, Oregon, police. He was cited at 5:34 a.m. local time, according to court records. The official filing of a DUII charge is pending.

Stewart was released an hour later to a teammate, police told KATU. The teammate was later identified as fellow receiver Dakorien Moore.

"We are aware of the incident and are gathering information at this time," an Oregon athletics spokesperson said in a statement released to several outlets on Monday.

The senior receiver did not play in Oregon's 17-14 win over Nebraska on Saturday, sidelined due to an undisclosed injury.

Stewart is in his third year at Oregon, leading the Ducks with 37 receptions for 352 yards and four touchdowns. He missed all of last season after tearing his right patellar tendon during spring practices.

In his first year with the Ducks, Stewart finished with 48 catches for 613 yards and five TDs after transferring from Texas A&M.

Following the win over Nebraska, rumors circulated on social media that several Oregon players were involved in street racing, leading to several arrests. But Springfield police confirmed to The Oregonian that those rumors were not true. Additionally, Stewart's arrest was not connected to any such incident.

Up next for Oregon (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) is a visit to Illinois (3-3, 1-2) on Saturday.
