On Saturday evening, the USC football team fell 41-27 to Oregon at the Coliseum. With the loss, the Trojans dropped to 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in Big Ten play.

In his postgame press conference, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning took a massive shot at the Trojans.

“Three wins against these guys,” Lanning said. “I guess if you’re interested in winning football games and you’re from this area, you should go to Oregon. If you want to go to a Chris Brown concert, go here.”

Was the comment out of line? Perhaps. But given that Lanning has a 3-0 record against the Trojans, he has earned the right to talk smack.

When Lincoln Riley was hired at USC five years ago, he was brought in to make the Trojans the premier college football program on the West Coast once again. Instead, USC has become a punching bag for Lanning and Oregon. Simply put, that is unacceptable.
