NORMAN — Oklahoma has added a longtime Michigan staffer.
The Sooners are hiring Abigail O'Connor as associate athletic director, performance nutrition, athletic director Roger Denny announced on social media. O'Connor spent eight years with the Wolverines, eventually rising up to director of football performance nutrition.
"The Sooners got better today," Denny wrote. "Abigail O'Connor will help every team and athlete in our program reach their potential."
O'Connor will reunite with new OU football administrator Mark Taurisani as the two crossed paths at Michigan, where Taurisani served as director of football operations from 2018-2020.
Before her time with the Wolverines, O'Connor served as the assistant director of performance nutrition and primary football dietitian at Minnesota. She's also a certified strength and conditioning coach.
O'Connor's hire is the latest shakeup within the athletic department. Sooners football's lead trainer, Jonathan Gress, left earlier this month for a job with the Tennessee Titans.
