Oklahoma garnered a last-minute commitment as part of its 2026 recruiting class.

Cornerback LeBron Bauer announced Wednesday morning he plans to sign with the Sooners. At Allen High School in Texas this past season, he totaled 50 tackles, six interceptions and 10 combined blocked kicks.

Bauer, a three-star recruit, is considered an under-the-radar find for general manager Jim Nagy's front office. He also held offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Houston and Texas Tech.

OU signed 24 recruits to its 2026 class in December and was thought to be done until Nagy took to X on the eve of signing day. "'Bout to add a dawg to OU football 2026 recruiting class tomorrow," Nagy wrote Tuesday night.

Bauer's commitment comes days after cornerbacks coach Jay Valai left Norman to become a defensive backs coach for the Buffalo Bills.

Power Four signees in February are becoming increasingly rare. But Nagy and the Sooners felt they found a hidden gem.
