OU football adds to Malahn Green, Jaxon Lawler to Sooners' 2027 recruiting class

NORMAN — Oklahoma football is reaping the benefits of its major recruiting weekend.

The Sooners landed commitments from wide receiver Malahn Green and three-star Jaxon Lawler on Sunday, adding to their No. 3-ranked 2027 recruiting class.

Green committed to OU five days after receiving an offer during the Sooners' camp. He took his official visit this weekend and decided to commit.

The St. Louis native, who stars at Cardinal Ritter College Prep and is unranked by Rivals, also held an offer from Nebraska.

Lawler, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound interior lineman from Bushland High School in Amarillo, Texas, had previously visited Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech and Wake Forest. He ranks as the No. 152 player in Texas by Rivals.

"The recruiting process has been an incredible experience and I am grateful for every coach and program that believed in me," Lawler wrote on social media. "With that being said, my recruitment is shut down and I am 100% committed to the University of Oklahoma."

OU now owns 24 commitments as part of its 2027 class.
