NORMAN — Days after defeating Alabama on the road, OU football secured its latest 2027 commitment.
Coveted cornerback Mikyal Davis announced his commitment to the Sooners on Tuesday. Davis, a 6 feet, 165-pound recruit from Desert Edge High School in the Phoenix area, is OU’s seventh commit in the 2027 class.
“Blessed and grateful to be 100% committed,” Davis wrote on X.

Davis chose OU over Alabama, Ohio State, Texas and others. He joins four-star Mikhail McCreary as cornerbacks committed to the Sooners in the 2027 class.
As OU continues to march toward the College Football Playoff, the Sooners are making moves on the recruiting trail.
“Scouting staff already burning up the phones postgame in Bryant-Denny,” OU general manager Jim Nagy posted to X on Saturday night. “Two huge recruiting weekends coming up in Norman.”
