NORMAN — OU football lost another 2026 commitment Monday.
Two days before signing day, three-star defensive lineman T-Ron Richardson decommitted from the Sooners, he told Rivals. The 6-foot-5, 295-pound prospect from Hopewell, Virginia, had been committed to OU since August.
Richardson took official visits to Virginia Tech, Penn State, Maryland and Syracuse over the summer before deciding to pledge to the Sooners. However, Richardson officially visited the Hokies again this past weekend as new coach James Franklin looks to secure last-minute flips before Wednesday.
OU is now down to 23 total commitments and just two defensive tackles — James Carrington and Brian Harris — in its 2026 recruiting class.
Richardson’s decision comes less than 24 hours after OU lost a commitment from four-star wide receiver Brayden Allen on Sunday.
