The Oklahoma Sooners have lost to the Texas Longhorns over the past few years, and now they have even more bulletin-board material.

You cannot mention the words "football rivalry" without the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns joining the conversation. The Red River Rivalry is the best rivalry in college football. But, if you'd like to make the case for The Iron Bowl, of The Game, then that's fine, too. But those are undoubtedly the three best.

The only thing is, Oklahoma has lost to Texas the last two times they have played and has actually scored just nine total points in those two games, getting blown out both times. So, they need a win against Texas this year, badly. Why? Because it's a rivalry, and players on Texas are already starting to act like it's not.

Texas Longhorns EDGE rusher Colin Simmons says OU is not a big rivalry

"It's hard when you beat OU two years in a row. It definitely is, like the atmosphere says it's a rivalry," Texas edge rusher Colin Simmons said when asked if the Red River Rivalry is the biggest rivalry in football. "But, when you're on that field playing against them, it doesn't say rivalry. That's how I feel. I would say that Texas A&M is more of a rivalry than OU. It's Texas A&M. When is the last time Texas played Texas A&M? Our first time playing Texas A&M joining the SEC was last year."

He just made himself look a little silly, honestly. How can you say you just started playing a team and that's why it’s more of a rivalry than the Sooners? That doesn't even make sense. A rivalry is something that's been built up over the years. The Sooners and Texas Longhorns have played 121 times, and while Texas and A&M have played 120 times, they haven't met consistently for a very long time.

Not to mention, Texas leads its all-time matchup with A&M, 78-37. Texas leads the matchup vs. Oklahoma 65-51. That's much closer, and much more like a rivalry. So the Sooners have to use this as bulletin-board material because it's obvious that Texas is disrespecting them.
