The Oklahoma Sooners have reportedly decided to part ways with one of their commits in the 2027 recruiting class. According to multiple sources, four-star wide receiver Demare Dezeurn has decommitted from OU, despite being pledged since September. According to those reports, it appears that both sides made the decision to go in a different direction.
Dezeurn’s exit leaves the Sooners with 22 total commits in the 2027 cycle, with 11 on offense, 11 on defense, and zero on special teams. Oklahoma still has two wide receivers committed in the class, in Tra’Von Hall and Greydon Howell. Dezeurn becomes the third decommit this cycle for the Sooners, joining Oregon DL pledge Zane Rowe and Cal RB pledge Jaxsen Stokes.

Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing in at 170 pounds, Dezeurn hails from Westlake Village, California. He’s been a football and track star at Westlake High School, and is a top sprinter in the country. Dezeurn is taking an official visit to Cal this weekend, which reportedly started the process of the split between he and Oklahoma.
Despite losing the four-star wideout, the Sooners still have an excellent ’27 class in the works, but for wide receivers coach Emmett Jones, it’ll be back to the drawing board a bit as he looks to fill out the WR position in this cycle around Hall and Howell.
