PA WR Arnold Mugerwa Commits to Rutgers Football

The May 29th official visit weekend continues to bear fruit for Rutgers football, as they have now landed their seventh commit coming out of the weekend in wide receiver Arnold Mugerwa from Richland, PA, according to a post made by The Knight Report.

The 6-foot-3, 197-pound Pennsylvanian product is rated as a high three-star by both Rivals and 247sports. This past season as a junior, Mugerwa hauled in 54 receptions for 1,020 yards and 11 touchdowns. As with a lot of high school athletes, he also spent time on the other side of the ball, recording 36 total tackles (27 solo), two interceptions, and one pick-six. Mugerwa is ranked as the No. 71 overall wide receiver in the country and the No. 17 overall prospect in the state of Pennsylvania by Rivals.

Mugerwa had offers from several other Power Five programs and chose to commit to the Scarlet Knights over Duke, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan State, NC State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest, among others.

Mugerwa becomes the second wide receiver to join the Knights’ 2027 recruiting class, as Delaware’s Jamar Taylor committed earlier in the year. Both will be in good hands when they get on campus, as Rutgers wide receiver coach Dave Brock has established himself as a proven developer of talent, helping players like KJ Duff and Ian Strong reach the heights they did last season.
