Pac-12 school setting the pace with fast rising WR King Webb

Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon junior wideout King Webb is one of the top pass catchers in the state, and a recent Pac-12 visit made a big impression. 

Webb had a strong off-season, shining at multiple 7v7 events, and looked good at a recent game we attended when the Trailblazers beat Orange Lutheran (Calif.). Here was our post-game eval of Webb:

“Webb is a good-looking junior wideout who emerged this off-season at several 7v7 events. He had a solid sophomore season a year ago, averaging over 20 yards per catch on 22 receptions, and should be able to double those numbers this season. Webb scored on an end-around and added four catches for 40 yards. He has a nice all-around game- a polished route runner, strong hands, can get vertical, and runs well after the catch.”

On the recruiting front, Webb visited Oregon State earlier in the month when the Beavers hosted Texas Tech and raved about his time on campus.

“I loved it there, I had a great time,” Webb said. “It was a close game and I thought Oregon State was going to pull it out. They played a great game and I had a lot of fun there.

“Oregon State is recruiting me the hardest right now and I have a good relationship with the coaching staff and especially James Finley, the WR coach. I liked Corvallis too; it’s a cool college town, a lot of green, nature and I fit in really well.”

Webb also attended the UCLA-Purdue game and has a couple of other schools he’s hoping to check out.

“I really want to visit Colorado,” Webb said. “They offered me over the summer, and that was a big offer for me for sure. Coach Marion offered me, and I know they have a wide-open offense that features the passing game, so I really want to check them out.

“I would also like to visit Ole Miss if I can. I’m not hearing from them right now but I like their school and how they play. I’m still open and not leaning anywhere right now. I have no timeframe for making a decision, just whenever it feels right.”
