Pair of LSU receivers named to Biletnikoff Award watch list

With all but one wide receiver departing from the 2025 LSU Football team, Lane Kiffin had to get to work in the transfer portal to rebuild the position. He did just that, bringing in 9 receivers through the transfer portal.
Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr rotate receivers rapidly in their offensive scheme. While they will all have opportunities to make an impact, two of them were singled out as potential break out stars on Wednesday.
Outside of the Heisman Trophy, the Biletnikoff is THE award for wide receivers. It’s a massive honor, so for Tre Brown and Jackson Harris to be named to the preseason watch list speaks volumes.
The award was first created in 1994 and named after Pro Football Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff. It is given annually to the top pass-catcher in college football. Past winners include guys like Ja’Marr Chase, Travis Hunter, Marvin Harrison Jr, and DeVonta Smith.
Jackson Harris a redshirt junior that transferred from Hawaii after a breakout season. He spent his first two years at Stanford, but only recorded 6 catches. Last year, he hauled in 49 receptions for 963 yards and a whopping 12 touchdowns.
Tre’ Brown is also a redshirt junior that came over from Old Dominion, where he spent one year. He had 38 receptions for 762 yards and 4 touchdowns. His first two seasons of his college career were at Hutchinson Community College where he had medical redshirt in his first year before catching 27 passes for 500 yards and 9 touchdowns the following season.
Harris and Brown are looking to follow Makai Lemon, who won the Biletnikoff Award in 2025 at USC.
