Saturday’s Alabama–Georgia game is the biggest game of Week 6 for the 2026 college football season.
Both teams are ranked inside the top 10 of the AP Poll and are 5-0 going into this showdown in Tuscaloosa. Georgia is coming off a 38-14 win over Vanderbilt, while Alabama crushed Mississippi State 56-23 last weekend.

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum is excited, like everyone else, to watch the game and thinks it’s bigger for Georgia since head coach Kirby Smart is 2-7 in his career against Alabama.
“It’s bigger for Georgia because Georgia has an Alabama problem, and so does Kirby Smart,” Finebaum said on “Get Up.” “I’m well aware, Greeny, that Georgia won the last game. It was in the SEC Championship Game, and all my Alabama friends said, ‘We were banged up; we weren’t ready to play.’ Well, big deal. But the problem is that Kirby Smart has yet to beat Alabama in the regular season.”
Georgia beat Alabama 28-7 in last year’s SEC Championship Game, which was Smart’s first win over Alabama since the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Jan. 10, 2022. Georgia won that game by 15, 33-18.
This year’s Alabama-Georgia matchup
The winner of this contest will improve to 6-0 and be in the driver’s seat to play in the SEC Championship Game at the end of the year. Of course, the winner will also get bragging rights.
Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
