Penn State adds walk-on linebacker to Class of 2026

In a banner day for Penn State’s recruiting class, the Nittany Lions were able to pick up a local linebacker as a preferred walk-on.
Yesterday, as well as signing Elijah Reeder, the Nittany Lions got a commitment from Jake Lukac. Lukac is the son of former Penn State tight end Mike Lukac.

While Lukac played multiple positions at the high school level, he was recruited primarily as a linebacker. He totaled 24 tackles, 3.5 for loss, and picked up a fumble recovery. He recored 165 yards on 20 receptions with four touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball.
Lukac is a multi-sport athlete, playing lacrosse at State College High. He becomes the third Penn State recruit not just from the local area, but to start out as a walk-on, joining State College High teammate D’antae Sheffey and wide receiver Henry Lustig.
